While a bout between Ronda Rousey and Cristiane Justino still remains little more than a hypothetical at the moment, UFC President Dana White has an optimistic projection if the fight ever does come to fruition.
“There’s no denying Cyborg is a beast and many people, including me, think that Ronda is the best in the world and the best female fighter ever,” White told ”The Jim Rome Show” on Wednesday. “It’s one of those fights that’s very intriguing. When that fight happens, I guarantee that thing does over 2 million pay-per-view buys.”

Of course, a lot has to happen before Rousey and “Cyborg” can meet in the Octagon. Justino is expected to defend her Invicta FC featherweight title against an opponent to be named in July before cutting down to 135 pounds for a late 2015 appearance with the all-female promotion. Only when she proves she can make the bantamweight limit will she receive her desired matchup with Rousey inside the Octagon.
“I hope she does. I want that fight, Ronda wants that fight, and I think everybody else wants to see that fight,” White said. “Supposedly sometime before the end of this year she’s supposed to cut down to 135 pounds, she will fight in Invicta, and if she fights in that fight and wins then Ronda will be next.”
Justino recently ripped Rousey in a social media post that only served to increase interest in their rivalry. White laughed off the Brazilian’s harsh words toward the bantamweight champion.
“Who would you rather be, Cyborg or Ronda?,” White said. “Cyborg just always sounds like she’s trying to get a fight with Ronda; all she has to do is make 135 pounds and we got a fight.”
