Frank Mir has already been a UFC heavyweight champion and an MMA analyst. Now he can add promoter to his list of duties.

Russian promotion Absolute Championship Berkut announced on Monday that Mir will join the organization in a promotional capacity. According to a release, “Mir has already established a strong working relationship with ACB as their lead color commentator, with a plethora of knowledge about the organization, their fighters and their shows.”

According to Mir, he reached out to ACB regarding the role.

"I actually approached them,” he said in the release. “I know they are keen to break into the American market and I’m down for doing less travel, so I asked if they were interested in coming to America, then I could be a contact in the US that could promote the events for them which they were very open to.”

In addition to promoting ACB events in the United States, Mir will also help run shows in the U.K. and Australia, according to the release. Mir will work with broadcast partner Bryan Lacey and U.K. promoter Carl Prince. Mir’s promoter debut is expected to come in the very near future.

“We’ve agreed dates and venues for a number of exciting arenas. We can’t announce anything just yet but keep your eyes on ACB’s social media pages and we’ll have some big news coming very soon,” Mir said.

Mir isn’t done in the competitive arena, either. After a lengthy stint in the UFC, he signed with Bellator MMA and will make his promotional debut against Fedor Emelianenko on April 28 as part of the California-based organization’s heavyweight grand prix.
