According to a report from Sports Business Daily, Amazon has signed a deal with the Las Vegas-based promotion to stream pay-per-view events beginning with Saturday’s UFC 222 card. Pay-per-views will be available for $64.99 via Amazon Prime Video, though viewers do not have to be Amazon Prime members to order them.

Specific terms of the deal were not initially disclosed. According to the report, Amazon Head of Sports Jim DeLorenzo led negotiations for Amazon, while a group of WME-IMG executives — including IMG Media Senior VP & Head of North America Hillary Mandel and UFC Executive VP & CFO Andrew Schleimer — handled talks for the UFC.

The news comes as the UFC’s television deal with Fox draws to a close at the conclusion of 2018. Fox has reportedly offered in the neighborhood of $200 million per year in a new deal, far below the rumored $450 million UFC TV rights were valued at upon the sale of the company.

Amazon, which streamed Thursday night NFL games in 2017 as well as other sports content, could be a player in the upcoming UFC negotiations, and this new pay-per-view deal will only serve to fuel that speculation.

UFC 222 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night and is headlined by a women’s featherweight title bout between Cristiane Justino and Yana Kunitskaya. In the co-main event, Frankie Edgar and Brian Ortega will square off in a 145-pound title eliminator bout.
