On Thursday, Ultimate Fighting Championship officials that that this coming Saturday’s welterweight bout scheduled for UFC Fight Night 127 contest between Marshman and England’s Bradley Scott would not go down as planned, with the career-long middleweight Welshman being pulled from the fight over UFC officials’ concerns over his weight cut down to 170 pounds. UFC Fight Night 127 which is slated for this Saturday at the O2 Arena in London, England, is due to be headlined by a clash of top-10 heavyweights Fabricio Werdum and Alexander Volkov.

The bout was slashed to be Marshman’s first career contest at welterweight, but also would have been the Brit Bradley Scott’s first bout in the welterweight division since his competition on “The Ultimate Fighter: Smashes” at 170 pounds since 2012.

Marshman, 22, has alternated wins and losses at 185 pounds since his UFC debut in November 2016, going 2-2 during his Octagon tenure. Scott himself, 28, has also toggled between victory and loss, predating his UFC debut in December 2012.

Marshman’s manager Graham Boylan quickly offered statement to MMA Fighting: “As with all athletes the weight cut is something that can go wrong no matter how experienced you are in this game, Hopefully we can get this fight rescheduled ASAP. He’s not the first and he won’t be the last. These things happen all we can do is learn from it. Jack would like to send his apologies to Brad and the fans.”

Scott was quick to respond to the situation on Twitter, stating: “I would of gladly taken a fight at 185 if I knew he was struggling. I fought at 170 all the way to the Ufc. I then had staph really bad then got sick and lost lots of weight. That’s why I moved down.”

UFC Fight Night 127 will go forward with 11 bouts on Saturday in London.
