Multiple outlets confirmed the booking following an initial report from ESPN.com on Wednesday. Daniel Cormier will be stripped of the 205-pound belt as he prepares to defend the heavyweight crown against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 on Nov. 3.

UFC 232 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 29 and also features a women’s featherweight title clash pitting Cristiane Justino against Amanda Nunes.

Jones and Gustafsson initially squared off in one of the most memorable light heavyweight title bouts in promotion history, with “Bones” taking a narrow decision at UFC 165 in September 2013. Jones will be returning following a reduced suspension for a failed drug test at UFC 214 in July 2014, when he had a third-round victory over Cormier changed to a no contest.

Gustafsson hasn’t competed since UFC Fight Night 109, where he knocked out Glover Teixeira in the fifth frame in May 2017. “The Mauler” was scheduled to face Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 227 in August but had to withdraw due to injury.
