Douglas Lima 'not too sure' about split decision loss to Michael Page at Bellator 267

It should come as no surprise that Douglas Lima doesn’t agree with the judges who scored his rematch with Michael Page.

On Friday, Lima found himself on the wrong end of a narrow split decision to Page, which headlined Bellator 267 at The SSE Arena, Wembley. After 15 minutes, the judges scored it 28-29, 29-28, 29-28 for Page, who avenged his 2019 knockout loss to Lima in the welterweight grand prix.

While Lima (32-10 MMA, 14-6 BMMA) scored a few takedowns to find himself on top for a good portion of the fight, he never was able to fully capitalize on the position as Page (20-1 MMA, 16-1 BMMA) managed to mitigate the damage with wrist control from bottom. Meanwhile, Page had the biggest moments of the fight with at least three clean knockdowns, and he proved to be mostly evasive while the fight was standing.

All things considered, Lima wrote on Instagram that he believes he should’ve been the rightful winner.

Ehhh not too sure about this decision, I thought I won 1 and 3, need to rewatch! But thank you God for bringing me here again! I’m blessed! Had a blast here in London and can’t wait to come back! Thank you my team, family, and all of you that’s always supporting! God bless you all and I’ll see you again soon

For the first time in his career, Lima finds himself on a three-fight losing streak. He failed in his attempt to become champ-champ last October when he dropped a unanimous decision to middleweight champ Gegard Mousasi. Lima followed that up by losing his 170-pound title to Yaroslav Amosov, who was dominant for five rounds.
