UFC Fight Night 194 pre-event facts: Mackenzie Dern aims to add to submission records

The UFC’s busy October schedule rolls on Saturday with UFC Fight Night 194. The event takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and streams entirely on ESPN+.

A matchup of highly ranked strawweight contenders is featured in the main event. Mackenzie Dern (11-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) looks to put her grappling wizardry to use once against when she clashes with striking standout Marina Rodriguez (15-1-2 MMA, 4-1-2 UFC) in a potential title eliminator at 115 pounds.

Laureano Staropoli’s (9-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since May 2019.

Staropoli has all three of his UFC losses by decision.

Charles Rosa vs. Damon Jackson

Damon Jackson (18-4-1 MMA, 1-2-1 UFC) is 1-1 since he returned to the UFC for a second stint in September 2020.

Jackson is the only fighter in UFC history to have a record of 1-1-1 with one no contest in his first four octagon appearances.

Jackson has earned 17 of his 18 career victories by stoppage.
