LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC Fight Night 194 fighter weigh-ins, which saw some late adjustments to the card.
The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which streams on ESPN+.
Among those weighing in were Mackenzie Dern (11-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Marina Rodriguez (14-1-2 MMA, 4-1-2 UFC), who meet in the women’s strawweight main event. Both made weight without issue.
One fighter didn’t ever make the trip to the scale. Phil Hawes (11-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) reportedly declined a last-minute replacement opponent in Chris Curtis (26-8 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who stepped in to replace Deron Winn (7-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) on less than 24 hours’ notice. That fight was subsequently canceled.
Additionally, Jared Gooden (18-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC) missed weight, registering 174 pounds for his welterweight matchup with Randy Brown (13-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC). Gooden was fined 20 percent of his purse, but the bout will go on as scheduled.
