“He caught me at the end. I think I threw a jab, and he level changed like he was looking for a takedown … He came back up, and I thought it was the back of his head that hit me originally. Whenever I landed and I had the seat belt and had his back locked up, I realized it was the elbow.”

“Everybody knows I go to the ground a lot. Before this fight, I was 18-4 and I had 17 finishes. Me getting someone to the ground usually means I get a finish. That’s what I was looking to do with him. … My game plan was to get him to the ground and get a finish. I was really wanted to be that guy who finished him on the ground. I thought I would.”

Jackson on what he wants next

“I’m always game. I’m always training hard. My weight’s always pretty good, so I’m ready to fight soon. I’ll definitely make that call and talk to my coaches. … I’m always game to fight anyone in my weight class or (1)55. I walk around heavy enough to take one at (1)55, too.”
