Dana White slipped in a bombshell announcement during a "scrum" with reporters after Saturday's post-event news conference in Los Angeles. While answering a question about B.J. Penn and Rory MacDonald agreeing to pre-fight drug testing through the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), White dropped the surprise, saying, "It's not going to happen -Rory's out." MacDonald brought Penn out of retirement for the fight, which was scheduled for Sept. 22 at UFC 152 in Toronto. But the next battle apparently will be for when and where the fight is rebooked. LOS ANGELES -A major cut suffered in training that required several stitches will keep Rory MacDonald from a highly anticipated welterweight fight against B.J. Penn at UFC 152 next month. UFC President Dana White on Saturday told MMAjunkie.com of the injury following Saturday's post-event news conference for UFC on FOX 4, which took place at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Canadian youngster Rory MacDonald and former UFC dual division champion B.J. Penn will become the first fighters in the promotion's history to partner with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association. VADA officials on Thursday announced that both fighters have agreed to eight weeks of random blood and urine testing ahead of their upcoming UFC 152 matchup with the Las Vegas-based independent organization footing the bill. For much of his career, former UFC champion B.J. Penn has been an outspoken opponent of performance-enhancing drug use. And so when the non-profit Voluntary Anti-Doping Association volunteered to sponsor pre-fight testing for Penn and his UFC 152 opponent, Rory MacDonald, "The Prodigy" immediately agreed to take part. Penn has since been forced to withdraw his support of the program. However, the Hawaiian scrapper doesn't want to nix the plan all together.
