While answering a question about B.J. Penn and Rory MacDonald agreeing to pre-fight drug testing through the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), White dropped the surprise, saying, "It's not going to happen -Rory's out."
MacDonald brought Penn out of retirement for the fight, which was scheduled for Sept. 22 at UFC 152 in Toronto. But the next battle apparently will be for when and where the fight is rebooked.

Penn at UFC 152 next month.
UFC President Dana White on Saturday told MMAjunkie.com of the injury following Saturday's post-event news conference for UFC on FOX 4, which took place at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
MacDonald and Penn had been booked for the main card of UFC 152, which is set for Sept. 22 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

"I love B.J.," White on Thursday said. "B.J. has been a huge star for us for a long time. I think B.J. could be up in there in the talks of 'Who is the greatest of all-time.'"
But that doesn't mean he thinks "The Prodigy" has fully delivered on his potential as a mixed martial artist. The two share a long, contentious past about the topic.

Despite the fact that a positive pre-event drug test could cast a cloud over their fight at UFC 152, White said the decision was "their business."

become the first fighters in the promotion's history to partner with the
Voluntary Anti-Doping Association.
VADA officials on Thursday announced that both fighters have agreed to
eight weeks of random blood and urine testing ahead of their upcoming
UFC 152 matchup with the Las Vegas-based independent organization
footing the bill.
